Star Wars Rebels is an animated series which takes place between the movies Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The show first aired on DIsney XD in October 2014.
The show features a group of rebels who operate out of the starship Ghost, as they fight back against the Galactic Empire. The team consists of Hera Syndulla, a Twi'lek pilot and the captain of the Ghost; Kanan Jarrus, a former Jedi who survived Order 66 after his master's sacrifice; Ezra Bridger, a young Force-sensitive orphan who Kanan takes on as an apprentice; Sabine Wren, a Mandalorian explosives expert; Zeb Orrelios, a Lasat warrior; and Chopper (C1-10P), a cranky astromech droid. Tasked with hunting down the rebels are a number of Imperial officers, including Agent Kallus with Imperial Security, and the Imperial Inquisitors who are Force-sensitive agents who hunt down rogue Jedi.
In the first season, the action stays focused around Ezra's home planet of Lothal, which also serves as the base of operations of the rebel cell. Starting with the second season, the scope expands outward, as the team joins up with the larger Rebel Alliance.
